Precious Cows...

I just thought this was a really neat setting...The cows hanging out in their pasture with the trees. A wonderful sight! I love cows!

Mmmmmm, Time For Lunch At Daddy's!

The Road Is Long...

One Hard Workin' Tractor!

This tractor looks like it's been in the fields for a while...and doing some hard work! Thank you to all the workers who plant and harvest the sugarcane...and the tractors too!

Just Another Storm...

Just a trucker heading into another storm. Somewhere, someone is going through a storm...literally or emotionally. The good news is that Jesus is always there to pull us through..if we ask Him and trust Him. "Somewhere tonight it's raining...."

Just A Really Cool Sign....

This is just a very cool sign that is still left after Hurricane Katrina. There are not all that many great old signs left...sadly.

Memories Of Childhood...

I don't know what it is about the Retread Plant..but it brings back memories of being a kid in the early and mid 70's. Something about that tire smell... I've always loved that smell and I remember as a kid, for some reason it was and is prominent in my mind. It makes me think too, of race car drivers of the 70's and watching racing on TV.....The Wide World of Sports! I don't know, again, something I can't really explain. I just love that tire smell....memories of the Wide World of Sports and tires stores, and valvoline ads...I know, I'm weird!

Freedom....The USS Kidd

Gunners Mate Payne was killed in the line of duty in 1945 aboard the USS Kidd. Below is a photo of one small bunk area of the ship. There were 300 men serving on this ship at one time and the Kidd served in three wars....WWII, The Korean War, and the Vietnam War. I commend and admire the men who served on this ship and other ships and submarines just like it. It had to be extremely dfficult for them. I was uncomfortable just walking around for the hour or so that I was there. It's extremely hot in the summer and cold in the winter and very, very close quarters. The men and women of our military put there lives on the line for us everyday and also their comfort. Without these brave and unselfish individuals we would not have the freedoms that we enjoy today. I say thank you to Gunners Mate Morgan Payne and everyone who has served this country well...even given there lives to keep us free. THANK YOU!
